The dark, dreary days of winter are almost behind us. Soon, winter will give way to spring – the temperature will rise and the pleasant smells of freshly-cut grass and flowers will fill the air. Speaking of flowers, these are the three flower festivals that you will not want to miss out on this spring and summer:
La Conner Daffodil Festival
When: March 1-31
Where: La Conner, WA
The town of La Conner has been hosting an annual daffodil festival since 2015. Each March, nearly 500 acres of fields are awash with cheery, yellow daffodils. To guide you on your daffodil adventure, Love La Conner flower farm has created a bloom map. Once you’re finished admiring the daffodils, visit La Conner’s specialty shops, wander around the waterfront village, or stop for a bite to eat at Nell Thorn Waterfront Bistro & Bar and a drink at La Conner Brewery.
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
When: April 1-30
Where: Multiple locations
Washington’s most famous flower festival is held annually in Mount Vernon from April 1st through April 30th. Each year, visitors from allover the U.S. and other countries come to see and photograph the seemingly endless fields of colorful tulips. Multiple tulip farms host the festival – RoozenGaarde, Tulip Town, Garden Rosalyn, and Tulip Valley Farms. RoozenGaarde and Tulip Town both offer food and drink and feature gift shops onsite. Garden Rosalyn is located in a beautiful park like setting. And Tulip Valley Farms offers U-Pick, Tea Time in the Tulips, and a reoccurring Night Bloom event. Sequim Lavender Festival
When: July 21-23
Where: 202 N Blake Ave, Sequim, WA 98382
Enjoy food, music, and shopping at the annual Sequim Lavender Festival. The street fair features hundreds of vendors who sell all things lavender from lavender cookies and ice cream to lavender face cream. You can also take a farm tour where you’ll be able to take beautiful photos and pick your own lavender. Admission to the street fair is free.
